Follow an RSS or Atom source

Import each new chapter of a webnovel from a feed that carries its text.

Steps

  1. Open the Settings tab of a text volume and find the “Follow a source” card. Enter the “Feed address” and “How often (hours)”, then click “Follow this feed”.
  2. Tick “Translate what arrives” to start the translation as soon as new chapters are imported. Leave it unticked and they are imported, then wait for you to start them.
  3. Click “Look now” for an immediate check. The result says how many new entries were found and imported, and lists the entries that carried only a link.
  4. Click “Stop following” when the source should no longer be watched.

What to know

The feed is checked every 6 hours by default, and you can choose anything from 1 to 168 hours. Only hosts the administrator lists in SOURCE_WATCH_HOSTS can be followed, and an address that leads to a private network is refused. Libris Translate imports what the feed itself carries: it does not follow links, does not fetch web pages and does not guess a chapter number the feed does not give. EPUB volumes cannot follow a source.

Fictional example

Follow a fictional serial feed that publishes full chapters, leave “Translate what arrives” unticked for the first check, and read the imported chapters before switching it on.
