Accounts and sign-in

Your account, your sign-in methods, and the accounts an administrator manages.

Steps

  1. Open My account to change your username or password, manage your sessions, your notifications, your own providers and your API tokens.
  2. Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, and add security keys if you have some. Write down the ten recovery codes when they appear: they are never shown again, and each one signs you in once.
  3. With single sign-on or a directory, the name, email and password stay with the identity provider; in Libris Translate you still choose your notifications.
  4. Administrators manage accounts under Settings › Users: “Create an account”, change a role, deactivate, “Reset password” or “Remove two-factor authentication”. The tab shows how many active accounts the licence allows.
  5. To delete a local account, first choose who takes over its books, series and glossaries. Deactivating an account keeps everything and frees its place.

What to know

A sensitive change asks for a recent proof of identity: a password, a code, a security key that verifies you (PIN or biometrics), or a fresh sign-in with the SSO provider. It lasts five minutes in this session, and what you typed stays in the form meanwhile. Passwords have at least 12 characters. When the licence’s limit of active accounts is reached, creating another one is refused, while existing accounts keep signing in. At least one active administrator is always required. Deleting an account revokes its sessions, API tokens and review links.

Fictional example

Create a fictional proofreader account, give it the Reader role on a single test volume, then deactivate it once the proofreading is over.
