Advanced editorial settings
Prompts, narrative memory and web search: what an administrator can tune for future work.
Steps
- Under Settings › Prompts, edit a prompt and click “Create version”. The “Version history” shows which one is in force; you can restore an older one or “Go back to the original prompt”, and “Export prompts” saves them all.
- Under Settings › Memory · OpenViking, enter the “OpenViking URL” and the authentication, then “Test connection”. The optional service stores the narrative memory beside Libris Translate’s own; “Look for orphans (dry run)” lists leftover documents before you remove them.
- Under Settings › SearXNG, enter the “SearXNG instance URL”, tick “Enable search during final review” if you want terminology searches, and test the connection.
What to know
A new prompt version applies to the next requests; restoring a version creates a new one with its content, so nothing is erased. Going back to the original prompt also brings its updates in later versions of Libris Translate. Hybrid mode keeps Libris’ own continuity when OpenViking is absent or unreachable. Web search sends the terms searched to your SearXNG instance and its upstream engines, at most two searches per passage, and none when the option is off; the instance must allow the JSON format.
Fictional example
Add one sentence about tone to a prompt on a test installation, translate a fictional passage, then go back to the original prompt and check that the history kept both versions.
