For independent series authors

Your saga in another language, with the same names from volume 1 to volume 10.

Libris Translate turns each volume of your series into a first draft in the language you choose, as an EPUB ready for ebook stores, and remembers every name, place and invented word along the way. You, or the proofreader you hire, read it before it goes out.

A real result: two Alice books translated end to end

The problem

A series is written over years, and its readers remember everything. Translated volume by volume, by different people or tools, it renames a character in volume 4, translates a spell three different ways and forgets the nickname from volume 1. And hiring a translator for ten volumes is often out of reach for an independent author.

What Libris Translate does for you

  • A memory for the whole series

Before translating, Libris Translate reads each volume and notes its characters, places and terms. A series shares one glossary, so volume 7 uses the names volume 1 settled, and a volume only learns from the ones before it.

    Guide: Series and volumes

  • Your invented words, your choice

Lock the translation of a name, a title or a made-up word once: every passage of every volume follows it.

    Guide: Glossaries

  • Where to read first

Every passage gets a quality score from 0 to 100. Start your proofreading with the lowest ones.

  • A book ready to publish

An EPUB with your title, chapter headings and cover, and a bilingual EPUB, the original next to its translation, for your proofreader.

    Guide: Export the translated book

A typical project

  1. Add volume 1 as an EPUB: the import assistant proposes the series and the volume number.
  2. Check the names and invented words it found, and lock the ones you want kept.
  3. Let the autopilot translate, review and close the volume. Nothing waits for your approval.
  4. Read the lowest-scored passages, or send the bilingual EPUB to a proofreader, and correct.
  5. Export the EPUB and publish it. Volume 2 starts from everything volume 1 settled.

What it costs

Two separate costs. Libris Translate: 50 € once for the Personal plan, for non-commercial use, 29 € a month or 290 € a year for Studio, or a quote for Pro, after a free 30-day trial. The model, which you bring: a hosted API bills its provider's price per token, a model on your own hardware costs its electricity. Before each paid operation, Libris Translate shows the estimated cost, and a budget per book makes it switch to a cheaper provider, or pause, before going over. How the AI book translator works, from import to EPUB.

To publish and sell your translations, Studio, 29 € a month or 290 € a year, translates up to 3 000 000 words a month. The Personal plan, 50 € once, is for non-commercial use.

What it does not do

  • Libris Translate writes a first draft for human review. It does not replace a translator: publish nothing that nobody has read.
  • You need the translation rights to the text: your own work, a contract with the rightsholder, or a work in the public domain.
  • Libris Translate runs on your own server, or one your IT provider runs for you. A hosted version is planned but not available yet.
  • If you sold the translation rights of a book to a publisher, the translation is theirs to commission: check your contract first.
  • Some ebook stores ask you to declare AI-assisted content when you publish: check the rules of each store.
