Export and restore a whole series
Move every volume and the series’ editorial memory in one checked archive.
Steps
- As the series’ owner, click “Export the series” in the header of the series page. Archived volumes are included, and so is an archived series.
- Keep the resulting .libris-series.zip with the matching installation backup when you migrate or hand the series over.
- To restore it, click “Add content”, choose “Restore a Libris archive”, then “A whole series” under “Archive contents”, and select the file. Everything is checked before anything is written.
- Open the new series. If the name was already taken, it is restored under another name. Choose providers, share it again, then resume the work yourself: nothing runs after a restore.
What to know
The archive carries the series settings, style sheet, Series Bible, glossary, identities and their links, relations, and one project archive per volume; identifiers are remapped on restore. On purpose, it does not carry the providers and their secrets, the owner and members, the suspension, the audit log, the shared glossary the series follows, API tokens and webhooks, or OpenViking documents, which are rebuilt from the database.
Fictional example
Export a fictional three-volume series with one archived volume, restore it beside the original, and check that the new series holds three volumes of its own.
