Free trial
Try the AI book translator free for 30 days
The full Libris Translate, on your own server, for 30 days: 100 000 words a month, every format, every model provider and the complete autopilot. No payment card; one key by email once you confirm your address.
Quotas read from the licence server’s trial plan, as published on this site for Libris Translate 0.28.0. The model you connect is not part of the trial: you pay its provider, or nothing more than electricity on your own hardware.
How to start
- Ask for a key: enter your address in the trial form and follow the confirmation link within 24 hours. Trial form
- Install: the key email holds the registry credentials; one command installs Libris Translate with Docker on a Linux server. Rent and prepare a server; install steps
- Connect a model: an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral or DeepSeek, or a model on your own hardware. Which model, and what it costs
- Translate a book: add an EPUB, let the autopilot run, download the EPUB and the report. Getting started

What 100 000 words cover, on a real book
Measured on 1 October 2026, Libris Translate 0.25.0, quality “high”, default autopilot: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (public domain), English → French, 26,530 words, translated end to end. 2,695 model calls, 39,832,243 tokens sent and 2,026,109 received, analysis, checks, three autopilot rounds, escalations and failed calls included. Translation model: GPT-6 Luna; GPT-6 Sol for the passages the autopilot escalates (wordplay, arbitration). The book was translated with a ChatGPT subscription through the Codex bridge: the amounts below apply the APIs’ list prices to the same tokens.
The trial’s monthly quota is about 3.8 books of that length, and translating all of it the same way would cost about $107 of model at list prices. The other models, at the same token counts
After the trial
- When you buy, the trial becomes your licence on the same key: the machine stays activated, nothing to type again.
- If you do not buy, Libris Translate stops starting new translations at the end of the trial; everything already translated stays on your server, readable and exportable.
- One trial per address, for life; addresses with a “+” are not accepted. Terms
Questions
- Is the trial really free?
- Yes: no payment card, no automatic renewal. The only cost is the model you connect, billed by its provider; a model on your own hardware costs its electricity.
- Do I need to install anything?
- Yes: Libris Translate runs on your own Linux server with Docker. A hosted version is planned, not available yet.
- Can I translate a whole book during the trial?
- Yes, within 100 000 words a month: the measured book above, about 26 530 words, fits several times.
- Is the trial limited in quality?
- No: the same pipeline and the same autopilot as the paid plans. Quality depends on the model you connect.
- What may I translate?
- Texts you have the right to translate: your own works, works whose rights you hold, or the public domain. What you can translate
